Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Multnomah Athletic Club
Experience the bounty of Portland at the Southwest Charter School’s (SWCS) 5th Annual Dinner and Auction. Showcasing a wide range of items from the quirky to the fabulous, past donations have included European vacations, downtown dinners, bike pedal tours, and festive wine tastings. With over 200 guests in attendance, this event is the SWCS’s largest annual fundraiser. Come join us for a rockin’ evening of music, riverboat games, great grub, and more!
- March 7th: Auction Donation Deadline (one item per family) and Procurement Prize Drawings
- March 13th: Wall of Wine donation collection begins on Thursdays
- March 14th: Deadline to turn in Sign Up Party Forms
- March 17th: Auction Tickets go on sale online
- April 3rd: Classroom Art Project Preview in the Great Room, plus Wall of Wine Prize Drawing

Special thanks to Tiffany & Chris Cox for donating 17 two-night stays for each of the SWCS teachers and staff at their Roaring River Retreat vacation home on Mt. Hood (www.vrbo.com/494258)! Each time a paddle is raised on auction night (donation level to be determined), our community will help one of our hardworking teachers & staff members earn a getaway! Get ready to raise your paddles high on auction night to show our teachers & staff how much we appreciate them.

Donation Deadline March 7th (during student conferences)
Every SWCS family is asked to procure one donated item for the auction. Whether it’s a $10 gift certificate from your favorite take-out restaurant, a week at your parent’s timeshare, or hosting a sign up party, every donation benefits our kids and our auction is only as successful as the donations we receive. All donations should be placed in the donation bin (will a completed donation form attached) next to Kathy’s desk.
This year, to reward you, we’ve added a few procurement drawings on Friday, March 7:
Turn in your donation form (including sign-up party forms!) by Friday, March 7
& your name will be entered to win a dinner gift basket from SWCS family owned,
Verde Cocina restaurant.
Turn in multiple donation forms & your name will be entered EACH time to win an Obagi Skin Care products package worth $350(including Obagi C Cleansing Gel, Balancing Toner, Clarifying Serum & C-Therapy Night Cream) from Pearl MedSpa. This package contains up to 6 months of top-of-the-line skin care!
SWCS Auction Donation Forms
Look for auction donation forms in the plastic envelope on the auction board in the front hallway & on the bulletin board outside of your child’s classroom at school OR under the ‘Donate an Item’ tab online at swcs.schoolauction.net/2014auction
Carry donation forms in your car and ask the businesses that your family frequents on a regular basis if they’d donate goods, services or gift cards in support of our school and our kids.

Event sponsorships help us to minimize event expenses and maximize our fundraising.
Each sponsorship level includes free tickets to the auction, VIP perks, and is a smart and inexpensive way for participating businesses to achieve recognition & promotion within the SWCS community and beyond.
All of our sponsors are featured both online and in print, in our full length color auction catalog. Featuring fun and informative articles about SWCS and our surrounding community, it is just one aspect of our many promotions which will reach thousands of people.
This year, we are proud to announce that our Rockin’ Riverboat Ride will be promoted live on 92.3 fm KGON. With enormous and widespread community support, our auction event is not only our largest fundraiser, but a key opportunity for sponsors to get to know their community, to get involved, and to give back. The entire community benefits!
Reminder! Classroom Art Project $ Due
Classroom Auction Art Projects are underway and we’re asking for a contribution of $5 per child to pay for supplies. There is a manila envelope for this outside of each classroom door. Susan’s 3/4 class has completed their collections but many classrooms have not collected nearly enough. Please mark your contribution with your child’s name. Thank you to those who have already contributed! Note: Zidell Companies has generously sponsored the 7/8th grade project. No $ is due for 7/8th grade students.
