Today I went to the Art Show and Fundraiser for SW Charter School. The posts on Facebook and via email indicated that art work by the students would be available for purchase. I walked in and told the greeter that I was here to purchase some of my grandson’s artwork to support the art program at the school. I was informed that it was not for sale except for a few “mugs” of which did not have my grandson’s.

I was informed that after students were told that their artwork (it looked like only one piece of artwork from each student) they objected and said they wanted their artwork returned to them.

I was puzzled as to why this decision was not known before all the communication went out to parents and friends.

I was disappointed because I wanted to support the school by purchasing artwork. I think the information sent out in emails and on Facebook needs to be accurate in the future so that people understand and are not caught off guard when they expect one thing and find out something else when they arrive.
